MSMAS host 'Swordsman' Nakagawa Sensei as he revisits the MSMAS Dojo for DNBK Rank Presentations ...

Tonight we had the pleasure of Nakagawa Sensei from Japan ...

Commencing after our regular Judo Session, MSMAS we hosted Swordsman Nakagawa Sensei as he revisited our Dojo from Japan.

Nakagawa Sensei's demonstration and instruction of Iai Tamashigiri during our ‘Summer Gasshuku’ in 2007 was well received, so this gave us a chance to meet this Teacher..

Also, Shuichi Terashima Sensei, our Kendo Teacher at MSMAS, gave a brief demonstration of Kendo, with 4 of our School's own Kendo Students.

The evening was also set aside for the Official DNBK Grade Presentations of Ranks awarded at the recent 'WBS 2008'..

The Rankings were awarded in accordance with Hanshi Hamada's guidance, utilising the Shojo~bo, as given in Kyoto, Japan.

New Rankings awarded for Mid Sussex Martial Arts School Instructors.

who all now hold Yudansha Ranking in 3 separate Disciplines, making them 'Budoka' along with both Kyoshi Payne & Renshi Bibby....

Also awarded DNBK ID GM & CM Cards plus Certificates.

The aim of The Mid Sussex Martial Arts School has always been to form true Martial Artists, with a fuller understanding of Budo. The achievements of the above 5 at MSMAS will perhaps help them to take a few more steps towards that. To obtain YuDansha Ranking in one discipline is just a small step, to achieve that same ranking in 3 disciplines may mean an 'opening of the mind', perhaps ready to contemplate and even begin the voyage of discovery that is the 'Way'.
