A busy start at The Mid Sussex Martial Arts School in 2008 for all ...

Just a few weeks into the New Year, and any thoughts that it may be quieter for us in 2008 than it was in 2007 have been quickly dispelled...

To that end, before the year began, MSMAS had already taken action to ensure 'Responsible Travel' by everyone at MSMAS 2008 by 'locking in' 260 tonnes of global warming CO2.

On the 1st we held our 'Annual Misogi', open to all MSMAS Students, irrespective of discipline, age or grade.

On our very first weekend, unknown to anyone, young Chester Page snatched a 'Bronze' at the South Coast Mini Mons whilst our Seniors enjoyed 2 x 'Warm Up' Sessions, held prior to the resumption of their regular Sessions in 2008.

On Monday, 7th January the '2008 Mid Sussex Martial Arts School Instructors & Assistants Roll' was announced, with many news names joining our Register, as we all took a last look back over 2007.

The second weekend, saw our '4th MSMAS Gasshuku Weekend', which was well attended by all.

Whilst we were training, young Shelley, another of our many Juniors, was taking yet another National Medal for MSMAS, this time at the 'Welsh Open' Championships held at The Welsh Institute of Sport in Cardiff.

Also on the Judo front, at the end of January, MSMAS plan to be at the 'North West Open Championships' in Liverpool, plus Gradings at the Budokwai in London then followed by the 'Midland Area Under 20's', 'NHC Senior Open', 'South of England.Dan & Kyu Championships' & 'English Senior Open'.

Finally, our plans for Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kumamoto & Fukuoka) in April/May are also now well advanced, plus MSMAS have again received invites to teach in the UK, for example at the '11th Official Meeting of Minds Aikido Festival' for Charity to be held in mid April, plus in Europe, for example, Sachsen-Anhalt, near Naumburg, Germany in late August 2008.

We can only imagine, if this is the start, what will the rest of the year will reveal to us as it slowly unfolds....
