MSMAS demonstrate Martial Arts at Japanese Art Festival in Richmond, Surrey.

The Japanese Art Festival was held over the 11th and 12th July 2009, and is the third Japanese Art Festival presenting two days of art, cultural activities and fun at the Richmond Adult Community College, Richmond, Surrey, UK.

 

Akemi Solloway, is the main organiser of the Japanese Art Festival, a Lecturer of Japanese culture and the daughter of an old Samurai family.

It is her aim to present authentic Japanese culture in an accessible and enjoyable manner. In addition to Akemi, the core supporters of this festival are AJAMCA, the School of Japanese Language and Culture and The Mid Sussex Martial Arts School.

In the friendly atmosphere of this event, with like-minded people, interested to see and do and the chance to take part in further activities in the UK and Japan.

The Manga and Anime Art Exhibition is also an official event of Japan-UK 150, celebrating 150 years of friendship between UK & Japan.

The Festival has also applied to be included in the Cultural Olympiad, ongoing from Autumn 2008 until the actual Olympic Games in London in 2012.Schedule of Events

MSMAS Judo ~ Medal success @ 2013 BJA Sussex County Judo Trials
