Final Comments from Lara, Sensei of Yama Bushi Judo Club

Montegiorgio, June 24, 2009

Dear Roger,

In these few short lines I would like to thank you for introducing us to Chris, Tom, Gus and Matt. They are fantastic young men and in the space of a few short days they managed to capture all of our hearts; you must be very proud of them and honoured to have them as your students. The bond that now exists between them and their Italian counterparts goes well beyond that of judo alone. I am delighted by this as it is only by virtue of friendship and understanding across different cultures  that we can build a world of true and lasting peace. This is why I feel honoured to have played my part in this project of friendship.

I would be very grateful if you could read these few words to the young people in your dojo so that they too can feel honoured to have Chris, Tom, Gus and Matt among them.

With best wishes,
Lara
