MSMAS congratulate Hanshi Dometrich on receiving 9th Dan in Virginia USA

MSMAS (Tenshin Kan Dojo UK) are pleased to congratulate Hanshi Dometrich at a DNBK ID event being held in Virginia, USA.

MSMAS, together with Canada DNBK branch, both Boston and Arizona group, will join with some of our Hanshi Hamada's own students, maybe 100 YuDansha or so Sunday April 5 in Granby High School, where Kim Baylor works as department chair of 'Health and Physical Education'.

Hanshi Hamada will hold this event for Dometrich Hanshi to honour this very unique 'Budo man' with high calibre integrity and exceptional character of 'old school'.

Who will ever forget his determination in the last WBS !!

This is the first time in the history of DNBK of an award of KuDan (9th Dan) Karate~do, thus Hanshi Hamada will present this great milestone recognition to Hanshi Dometrich personally.

The weekend was a tremendous success. Hamada Hanshi was quite gracious in the accolades for Dometrich Hanshi.

The day's event started with a meeting to discuss the day and the reason for them.

Everyone was organized for lining up, demos and training. All of which went really well. Hamada Hanshi performed an Itto Ryu Iai kata as part of the opening ceremonies, which was quite unique and interesting.

Following that every group, 10 or so in total, took 3-4 minutes demonstrating their style.

Dometrich Hanshi sat at the head table and watched, quite different for him because he is always involved. Afterwards everyone broke off into rank groups and trained for about an hour.

Finally, spirit training with Hamada Hanshi leading, then the Official Awards were presented.

Hanshi Dometrich as usual felt he did not deserve the accolades as in his speech he said that Dr Chitose himself had once remarked when asked him about his success said "because I'm still here, everyone else quit or was lost in the war." That is how Hanshi Dometrich feels about himself.

Shortly following the Official DNBKID event, the Tenshin Kan plaque was presented to Dometrich Hanshi with the entire Chito Ryu group in observance.
